National Children's Day

Today is national Children's Day in Japan. It is a time to celebrate the health and happiness of children. Family members take baths in water sprinkled with iris leaves and roots. It is believed the iris will promote good health. What do you do to keep yourself healthy?

I always eat my favorite foods that make me feel satisfied. I think accumulating stress is the worst thing in my life. Thus, I try not to accumulate it. I always do whatever I want. I think that is the most important thing.

Take a rest and good sleep save my life a lot. Some time, I don’t have enough time to sleep, and next day I feel very bad. I also over sleep or can’t get up in the morning. During class, I can’t concentrate because a sleepy feeling comes over me. Therefore, I think good sleep keeps me awake during school, and I can concentrate during class.

Keep my body cleans is also important. If I was dirty, I would get cold easily. Who wants to get cold? No one does, and I don’t either. Therefore, I take a shower every day. Taking a shower makes me feel comfortable. I don’t know why but I like it.

Those are what I do to keep myself healthy. 

Awake

Now that spring is here, many animals will come out of hibernation (an extended period of deep sleep). Imagine that you are an animal waking up after a long winter's nap. Describe your first day awake.

I work up this morning. Weather was warm and wonderful. All birds were singing, and flowers were blooming. I yawned and stretched. Under the soil, I've felt the weather was getting warmer and warmer. I've realized it was time to wake up.

I am starving right now. I should eat something. I want to eat delicious food, and I want to do everything because I’ve been sleeping for five months.  

First of all, I have to take a shower. I think my body smells badly, and then I want to go shopping. I need to buy new clothes, food, and snacks. I cannot live without these things. After that, I want to meet my friends. I really want to talk to them about this past winter. Some of my friends don’t hibernate, but I do. I have never seen winter. Every time, when I meet my friends, I always ask how this winter was. 

I want you to be happy day.

I want my family to be happy day because they are splitting the three countries. My parents are living in Tokyo. My sister is living in San Francisco. My grandmother and cousins are living in Shanghai. I know how sad it is. I have old sister but I have never lived together. She is real my sister but I still think I am an only child. Do you know this feeling? I know they are always happy but I think they can’t meet each other very much. They have jobs, and they are busy. However, they have holidays and long breaks so if they have a chance to gather in one place, they will go there. They also have their family and life so it is not easy.

I remember they gathered in Shanghai a few years ago, and I am pretty sure they had fun time but I think they have not met each other then. I hope someday they will gather in one place again, and they will have fun time. That one day will be happy day. 

Love

Making the world a better place through love is very tough. However, the love makes the world a better place is true. The love has different type of loves. For example, family loves, relationship with someone, and so on. I don't know about the love, and I cannot talk about relationship with someone because I do not know. Incidentally, I think donators also have loves, beautiful, and kind minds. They want to help others who are poor or have any other issues, and they don't want to leave these people along, so they donate some money and used clothes. They have loves. The love is spread around the world by these people. Hence, we have the Red Cross around the world today. They volunteer to help others and save them. Volunteers feel happy after they do something good. They spend much time to help people. They are such nice people, and they have loves. We should help people who are in trouble. Feel free to help others. It seems easy but actually it is not easy. However, we should help someone with our courage and love. The love makes the world a better place. 

I have a dream.

The third Monday in January in the United States is designated as the legal public holiday to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. He is famous for his "I Have a Dream" speech. Write about your dream for the future people of your country.

I have a dream that my country thrives, has no stress, and comfortable with life. Today, my country does not have many children. Most scientists say “Japan is population ageing.” The results of the survey announced that 23% of population in Japan is now over 65 years of age. Most people don’t get married, and have fewer babies. Therefore, people think less Japanese in the future. The government makes nursing homes. They take care of elderly people and make useful and comfortable with places and lives.

I have a dream; people continue to wear Kimono because most people don’t wear them. They always wear foreign clothes include me. During summer festival, some people wear Kimono however, most people do not wear them. I don’t really know about future things but I hope they will continue to wear them. This is Japanese traditional cloth, and I don’t want to lose them from people’s memories. 

The best winter

This past winter break I had the best time. I have some reasons why this break was the best time. I think all of you had wonderful time during this past winter.

First, I headed back to Tokyo. When I was at home, I could do what I wanted to do.

I also ate Japanese traditional food. Last winter break, I didn’t go back to Japan, and didn’t eat any traditional food in America. People who live in Japan eat New Year traditional food. It is called “Osechi”. We also eat “Zouni”. These are tasty food.

I went to the temple in Asakusa and prayed to God. I prayed only one thing but it’s a secret wish.

I didn’t do these things last time but this time I did all things that I wanted to do, so I think this break was the best time ever. I had so much fun.
